Method
Third-Party Validation & Monitoring
Commissioned by
British Council & QAED
Coverage
Entire province of Punjab
Years
2017–2020

Objectives & scope

  • FAME was tasked with assessing the impact of the British Council’s PEELI mega project. Success can be evaluated through various methods, with one of the most rigorous being the pure experimental research design. In this study, two distinct groups of Primary School Teachers (PSTs) were selected: a treatment group and a control group. Both groups were matched on key characteristics, including school level, location, and gender, with 200 teachers in each group. Data collection involved the use of two checklists: one measuring Child-Centeredness in teaching practices and the other assessing professional development growth among teachers. Observations were conducted by two independent observers for each checklist, and the analysis utilized the average score assigned by both observers to each attribute.
